Subject: [Chihuahuas] leaving them with a sitter- what to watch out for?

I have NEVER been away from my boy in his 27 months of life and now I need to
enter a silent retreat where he cannot go with me (for four days) nor can i
check on him. I am interviewing a woman who has sat for members of my church
before and I am going to pay her to actually live in my house (as I think thats
best for him). I am a nervous wreck and am considering cancelling it as we are
really attached and I do not want to break his heart. (4 days is like a month
to them right?)
I am having her over for dinner tomorrow night and must leave the evening after
that.
Besides "gut feelings" and the obvious- like seeing if he likes her and how she
is with him, what else should I look for?

I already told my church they must respect her wishes to interupt me should she
have an emergency..I told her just about anything is an emergency if he is
having any trouble. Thanks, hope Christmas was good for all who celebrate it.

best,
