To make it easier for the sitter when I left Maxx for a few days, I wrote out a daily schedule. It's easier to follow it especially if you don't know much about dogs. For example, 7:00AM Maxx wakes up on his own and will poop. Let him play for awhile til he goes to take his nap on his own etc. That's how I did it so the schedule was just followed daily.

Cesar was not very old the first time I had to leave him. In his 10 months of life, I have left him 3 times with a sitter and he has done just fine. Just leave all the instructions written: the number of meals, amount of food, how prepared, served at what time, change water twice a day, clean area, how many times to take him out side to do his business, at approximately what time, vet information, any special instructions for play, for daily care, telephone numbers of vet, family member or friend to be notified in case of emergency and anything else he is used to doing on a daily basis, yes, even getting kisses (my sister said she gave Cesar lots of kisses. I think leaving them goes a long way in better socializing them and avoiding separation anxiety. Besides, they are sooo happy when you return!
