Hi I dont post here much, but I saw this topic and have been lurking. Anyway, I
am a pet sitter I started my own business. I started it cuz I used to work at
an emergency vet clinic and was looking for a pet sitter myself. I interviewed
a few and just didnt feel comfortable with anyone, cuz I am picky about the
care my pets recieve! So something I do to make my clients feel more
comfortable. I always ask if they have email access on their trip and I give
them daily updates and even I take my digital camera with me and email them
pics of their babies. It seems to help. Plus I gave references and gave my
histiry of experience. I feel a pet sitter should do that. Give the client as
much info as possible. Some I have even brought some of my pets to meet the
clients..

you're gonna think I am nuts but I fear his little heart would be so
miserable I could not bear it. This lady knows dogs but only big ones. I am
presently writing a tome for her info. Maybe one day I should post it for folks
here to have electronically that way they could modify what they want not
having to write the stuff they agree with.

thanks as always!

Speaking of vets, you know, my vet takes dogs in if the owner has
to be away. Of course, there's a fee but it's pretty minimal compared to dog
hotels I can imagine. Though there are no dog hotels here yet. It's not the
nicest place to be especially if your dog hates being at the vet but then
there's a sense of peace of mind knowing that in case of a medical emergency,
the dog is already there. And of course, the vet and her staff knows the pup.

thank you all so much..never thought of leaving money for the vet- good one!

I called my vet to find out his weekend whereabouts and let him know the story.
I also mapquested the emergency clinic and printed that and told her to walk in
and get me for whatever reason.(luckily its close by, i may sneak home at night
ot see if he's ok) A religious retreat is good for my soul but anything
happening to my baby is way more important...blessings for the new year!
