Gloria i have the same problem with training Sissy and Brutus.Sissy i never trained she always been by my side and listen well.Brutus i hat to work with i guess it's the male.My problem is they are so tiny.Brutus is smaller then most of the Rottweiler puppy's when they were born.So when hi gets in the mude to do what hi wants to I cant drag him were hi supposed to sit you know what i mean.My first Chi learned from the Doberman and the Lap-mix i rescued and trained so it was easy. You know the un neutered chi is marking his territory.I'm with you they need to punish animal abuse a lot harter not just a slap on the hand.Oh Bruce is the same way over protective one of the reasons they are so spoiled I say no Bruce says ohhhhh leave them alone.I really miss training dog's I started when i was around 3 years old,I retrained a lot of dog's for a Shelter in Germany plus some Police dogs as Puppy's and of course my Owen.

She uses positive reinforcement techniques. I occasionally watch Dog Whisperer but DO NOT like Ceaser's training techniques at all! He is too forceful and doesn't use much positive training.
