My Tia gets plenty of exercise with BFF Elvy the cat.. LOL they are almost
the same age. Elvy will be one year old this month and Tia was year old in
May.. Still trying to convince my hubby I need another Chi though.. But I
waffle with it.. Tia is so close to me and I am kinda afraid that with
another she might not be as close to me as she is.. But then I think dang
that is a selfish way to think.. Maybe I just think too much.. Lol

PS Tia has never been interested in "toys" other than chewing things.. We do
play "alligator" several times a day though.. Lol.. it is when she opens her
mouth real wide and then mouths my fingers.. And I roll her around on the
couch.. All you gotta do is say "alligator" and she goes nuts.

When i don't feel like going out I sit on the floor with them and play ball
and other fun games were they have to run around. That is the reason i wanted
a small dog so i can get them tiered .Without going on long walks.

I know they need exercise and my poor Cesar has not gotten much this summer.
It has been much too hot for me and for him to walk. I don't do hot very
well and he doesn't either.

That is why I just take what I need from his program and leave the rest
behind.
I haven't read any of his books. Obedience training is man's way of handling
dogs,
as he said... Dog psychology is what he offers when correcting wrong
behavior.

I didn't realize the walk is very important... something that has worked
well
being in a pack situation.
I train in Obedience Competition, and am open to all different methods of
training. It's interesting.

I have almost all of Ceasar's books and I've been really disappointed that
he repeats things that have happened to him in his past instead of giving
training tips on how to train your dogs. :( The only book of his I've found
very useful is his newest Journal book. Even if you don't read his books and
such it's a great way to keep track of the progress that I make with Jaelyn
s training.

One other thing that bothers me is that he starts his show with saying 'I am
THE Dog Whisperer'. He should be saying 'I am *A* Dog Whisperer'. :/

Yes, it kinda makes you wonder. If you can't "try it at home" then how are
people supposed to use the techniques to train their own dogs? What's the
point of the show? Pure entertainment, I think.

I really dislike that they use the words Don't try this at home on his show.

I like the trainer on It's Me Or the Dog. She uses positive reinforcement
techniques. I occasionally watch Dog Whisperer but DO NOT like Ceaser's
training techniques at all! He is too forceful and doesn't use much
positive training.
