Well I understand what you are saying, what I am saying is that a breeder can't be breeding to improve the breed if they are producing bigger chi's

SHOWS. They are not disqualified from being chis, lol. Many people on this group have bigger chis, and they are still chis...they are just not permitted to be shown. But all this conversation comes about from my mentioning that breeders often use larger than 6 pound females to breed...for safety reasons.....the pups they try to produce are under 6 pounds, but the momma's are often over. This is a pretty normal practice among breeders. I messed up when I said it was a standard practice...and the word standard was misunderstood to mean was the breed standard.
