Oh ok. I just read a lot and one of the things I have been told over and
over is that breeders should breed to the standard which is set by AKC and
the chi breeder's club. I know that a lot of people don't breed to improve
the breed but breed out of love for the dog. Thanks for answering

6 pounds is the AKC breed standard. Not Breeding standard, but breed
standard....in other words the standard for the breed. You can not show a
dog over 6 pounds. However, when I said the standard for breeding, what I
meant is the average that breeders use to breed/reproduce. 6 to 8 pounds is
a pretty "standard", ei common/normal/average , size of females in a
breeding program. Looks like we were talking about two different things, lol
