Although he is getting better, Cesar still chews anyone's fingers when they try to pet or hold him. Substituting a toy doesn't work, bitter apple didn't work, the command "no bite" seems to work the best but not always. Gloria P In a message dated 12/3/2008 1:32:34 P.M. We just told Apache no and if he kept at it then we would put him on the floor....he figured it out pretty quickly...I am pretty darn lucky, he only chews on his toys and treats, but he has a fondness for kleenex ...my grandmother always has one in her hand or around her and he likes to tear them to shreds. I worried alot that Apache would not stop with the biting, but he did...it is all about being consistent. I hope I have helped you in some small way Arlene!! Connie Connie M. If she still persisted I told her no and put her in her cage for a little bit. she did learn not to bite or chew on me because she wanted my attention. And no she doesn't she her cage as a punishment place she does go in there herself for quite also. It is her calm down place and she loves it. Even now when she gets punished I tell her to go to her cage and she does and won't leave till she is ready even if I tell her it's ok to come out now. cim ----- Original Message ----- From: _arleneweaver2004_ (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ups.com_ (mailto:[email protected]) Sent: Wednesday, December 03, 2008 9:17 AM Subject: [Chihuahuas] Disipline I am haveing a little delema with Dora. Keeping in mind i like the fact she is so full of life and enjoys everything and i dont want that to change. She does know what no means and she stays when i go outside. Working on come. The delema i have is that she uses me for a chew toy and sometimes it takes a multitude of nos to get her to stop. I know people on this group has said to hold them down until they calm down. my husband does this and it works but the look on her face kills me. she is quiet for a long time after. I am concerned that it will change her. I dont want a trained dog like on the dog whisperer. they only move when he lets them. i like an independent dog. is this going to hurt her. I also want a good dog. Sorry this is so long. Arlene **************Make your life easier with all your friends, email, and favorite sites in one place. Try it now.
