I think it depends on the dog, not necessarily the sex. The little guy I just 
got bonded to me the first second we met, just leaped in my arms and started 
kissing me, but actually barked at my S.O. and backed away from him, acting 
very nervous. My Pug is a girl, though, and is my little shadow and always has 
been.

  What is your opinion of a male dog being closer to a female owner versus a 
female dog being closer to a female owner?  My friend is in search of a 
chihuaua but is adamant that only male dogs will bond with female owners.  I 
disagree because Jill is closer to me than my husband.  Reggie's dog is a male, 
and they are best buddies.  I promised her that I would ask the group and poll 
the opinions.  I thinik she's way off base but am anxiously awaiting your 
responses.
