So true! The first time I saw blue jays roll my cat in our backyard, she and I were both so stunned by the reaction of the jays protecting their nest, decided right then and there NO pet on the small side is really safe outside without us right there to protect them. The terrible damage a large bird can do, awful. Either never seeing them again, or terrible injuries, it's just not worth it to leave them outside alone even once without constant supervision. And like Beth said, all the other predators.... We have been hearing reports here of small dogs being stolen out of fenced yards for bait in dog fighting operations....that really hurts me that these awful people can be so cruel and heartless. People: Beware! And protect your furry ones, they deserve it. Lynn In a message dated 5/3/2011 9:34:14 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes:
You know here, I once saw a pair of Blue Jays swooping down at a cat. The birds were trying to protect their nest in the tree. But it just goes to show, how courageous and determined birds can be. >
