Awwww...thank you Gloria! I just can't wait!! I am becoming obsessed with thoughts of him...crazy, huh? 10 more days before I meet him and 10 days to prepare for his arrival!!! One thing I need to do is find the darn cord that connects the camera to the internet! Might have to put that on the purchase list.
If you have any advice on raising them it would be appreciated. Any tips on what NOT to do? What about favorite toys your chihuahuas have? What are they? I don't want him to live any longer without knowing how to play!!!! I do realize he may not catch on to this for some time. My last mill adoption was August of 2010 (Angus fb long haired chocolate dachshund, male, 1.5 when adopted)and he is still learning different approaches to playing and is so happy when he discovers soemthing new. He was in a mill for 1.5 years and it has taken a long time for him to come around to so many things. But we have the rest of our lives to discover! When going outside this fall he was instantly afraid of the fallen leaves and wouldn't move. The amazing thing is within a couple minutes, after showing him how they fell and they would not hurt him, he was rushing them and jumping in them and having fun. All it took was crumpling them in my hand while sitting down next to him on the ground. Then I just threw a handful up in the air and he watched them come down. He quickly realized they were fun. It used to take small intros day after day and weeks, sometimes months before he was no longer fearful...now it only takes a few minutes!!! I am soooo proud of him!!!! I hope I can help Cesar make the transformation more quickly. It's all up to him tho. This can't be rushed.
