Hi Beth--all my dogs, cats & bunnies are chipped. For the tiny bit of pain it causes, it is a wonderful thing to do for your pet should the unthinkable happen. I'd check with your vet about giving a little local anesthesia...but where I work we do it all the time. We d o try to have it done when they are under for spay or neuter, but that's not always an option. Some vets have different opinions about chipping teeny dogs.
