What kind of cable did you use to connect the second com port? Was it
delivered with your motherboard? There is no standard layout for the
cable connectors on motherboards and you'll have to make sure to use a
matching cable for the connectors on your particular motherboard.

You might start with comparing it to the cable attached you your other
com port - or you might even use this cable for test purposes...
