When this switching PWS start to fail, very often the charge caps are the reason. Switching PWS rely on the very low ERS of their switching capacitors, as they get older, their efficiency go low as well. Sometimes replacing the switching transistor is the reason, they seem to a tendency to burn-out without going totally defective, so PWS works, but .....
