I think other uC related groups at yahoo are also good lists (AVR, lpc2000,
rabbit, pic
do not know the right group names) Just take a look at the number of members.

I think the chipdir-list is/was mostly related to find info of some obsolete
chips - no
pure electronic design questions. This is why the number of questions is a
little limited.
