I also need to add my education is in Computer Science, I am a strong programmer, but have little experience in writing web sites. Webkit will understand and process a form regardless it is used for login or for anything else. I accept your expertise on this and ask for your comments! Do you have any documentation or a list of demos of all the different login methods on the web? Secondly Peter states: "It's less intuitive and requires users to change their focus from the page content to the browser chrome." Actually, the login page is usually the first page of a site a user sees. If they are a member they probably have the site bookmarked. How does a user navigate to this site? Using the browser Chrome. So to stay with the browser Chrome to login is not a switch! I also (personal preference) feel happier saving passwords if I know I have to manually do something to use them. Something psychological! Next I still argue there are shortcomings with Chrome at the moment. Please tell me how you feel I could work around them in Chrome as it is. When I sign into Google Apps calendar, the URL is "https://www.google.com/a/<DOMAIN>/ServiceLogin" I have three domains, used for email so they have strong and unique passwords, but the same username, 'chris'. Your password manager fails in this situation, making using Chrome for apps impossible! Can you please tell me how you password manager supports multiple logins? Can you also suggest how I manage with my browser bar turned off? Do you see any issues with my idea to long-click on the star button?
