Quick, look at https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/pfhifmnkpieijjfdlmijncagohajdfmp. Q: Can I install this on my Mac? A: Sure, but it won't work, as it has an NPAPI dll. Q: Can't we have the extensions gallery warn that it won't work? A: Sorry, we can't do that in an automated fashion. The extensions author should mention it. Too bad they don't. Q: Can't we have the Chromium app warn that it won't work when it loads it? A: Sorry, we can't do that in an automated fashion. The only notice that the user will get when they have an extension that won't work on their platform is that the extension malfunctions.
