Part of my requirements is that I not spend an enormous amount of time on this. Since I already know how to use Samba to solve my problem, and have already done so since CIFS doesn't support this, I'm not really motivated to spend a lot more time finding a different way to solve my problem. I thought it would be cool to use the new builtin zfs feature for this, but I can live without it. I think it's time for me to move on to my next problem. > If the only thing that concerns you is ease-of-use; avoiding people > on your network having to enter usernames and passwords to access > shares and/or having to manually map shares on logon then you can > do that with the CIFS service, provided you don't mind the one-time > setup of creating a few accounts on Solaris and checking "Reconnect > at logon" on the Windows systems systems. I don't have the shares connected all the time, I use Network Neighborhood when I need to access shared files. Reconnect at logon really sucks with laptops... >> But you didn't answer the question... Great, thanks! _______________________________________________ cifs-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/cifs-discuss
