Hi, I'm hoping someone can give me a virtual hand.

I started with OpenSolaris 2008.05 a couple of months ago. Not too long ago I
did an pkg image-update to svn_99.

# uname -a
SunOS liberty 5.11 snv_99 i86pc i386 i86pc Solaris

Since then I've been trying to configure CIFS shares from my ZFS pool...with no
luck. I've been trying to follow Tim Thomas' blog.

# pkg install SUNWsmbkr
pkg: no package matching 'SUNWsmbkr' could be found in current catalog
suggest relaxing pattern, refreshing and/or examining catalogs
pkg: install failed (runtime error): Unable to assemble image plan
# pkg install SUNWsmbs

Impact: This service is not running.

I've run the cifs-cfgchk script -

# ./cifs-chkcfg
CIFS driver (smbsrv) is not installed
make sure CIFS packages are installed properly

Not sure what I'm missing, I've tried to install every package on
pkg.opensolaris.org that's got smb in the name somewhere, at one point or
another. Currently I have:

# pkg list |grep smb
SUNWlibsmbclient 3.0.28-0.99 installed u---
SUNWsmbfs 0.5.11-0.99 installed u---
SUNWsmbfskr 0.5.11-0.99 installed u---
SUNWsmbs 0.5.11-0.99 installed u---

I saw a post somewhere about removing the smbsrv driver and adding it again...

# rem_drv smbsrv
Driver (smbsrv) not installed.
# add_drv smbsrv
Cannot find module (smbsrv).
# ls -la /kernel/drv/smb*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root sys 7404 2008-08-25 20:02 /kernel/drv/smbios
-rw-r--r-- 1 root sys 997 2008-10-26 13:46 /kernel/drv/smbios.conf

It probably goes with out saying (proudly) that rebooting does not help. So
can someone tell me what piece I'm missing? Should I just wipe the machine and
start over with 2008.11?
