I´m sorry to make a long post vale, actually my intention was motivating, if
I´m boring :( I guess it´s my fault, when you read a post made by me, just
go control+F and write ideas, and maybe in a looong post you can read 2 o 3
important things, but you have rigth i will try to write less.
....and I DO ACTUALLY SOMETHING... EDITING, and FX you know? I´m sorry for
not being a coder, I WOULD LOVE to MAKE code, but I´m just an editor.
make a patch. I understand. But maybe you can help in other ways: >making
tutorials, discussing, helping other users, blogging, making graphics.
All that **activity** around Cinelerra aim to bring people to enlarge
the Community (= more users, more video specialists, more coders).
Cinelerra needs PROPAGANDA. That is my opinion.
I tried to make themes for cinelerra before based in premiere or edius, and
one based in gnome icons, but I CANT COMPILE CINELERRA AND I DON´t MIND TO
LEARN, I´m and editor, cehteh was willing to help me, but i can´t take some
of his time to compile a theme, he has MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO I THINK,
i don´t want to stop a coder in something so trivial for the general app,
but important for the user.
Until 2006, I make a lot of propaganda for cinelerra, but users just find a
HARD TO INSTALL soft, and old binaries, but in 2007 most commercial apps
become MORE POWERFULL and EASY TO USE than cinelerra, so I can´t say
cinelerra is better for that thing.... for me it´s good but I can´t
recommend it.
THE IMPORTANT ISSUE IS:
TE CODERS are ignoring the users... I WOULD LOVE to make DVD templates or
SVG files for titles (I have a lot for Open movie editor), 3D transitions in
blender and stuff like that, so in that way users CAN CONTRIBUTE A LOT MORE
THAN WRITING TEXTS. we can make themes, presets, recreate parameter FX from
other apps if you can just MAKE THE EFFECTS PRESETEABLE, or CREATE A WAY TO
MAKE TITLES TEMPLATES, or stuff like that.
the users want to help i think, if adobe can have MILLIONS templates,
resources and presets aviable is because the USERS, we can´t wait until a
coder UNDERSTAND an editor´s work. the cinelerra users needs certain things
now, and WE CAN CONTRIBUTE.
I BEG coders to see how others apps work, PUT PRESETS in EVERYTHING(import,
export, effects, audio-peaks-to-keyframe, BRAINSTORMING FUNCTIONS,
export-to-dvd-with-menu-template, parent-son-related-tracks, and stuff like
that ) ,and WE WILL DO THE REST, use us.
As an cinelerra user, I WANT TO HELP but not making STUPID borders for a
website, or writing tutorials for what? NOBODY is using it, editors AVOID
linux. let´s change that.
there are many apps, with GREAT FEATURES, do you need to REINVENT THEM?
-AfterFX, when was just an engine (2001), had the photoshop EFFECTS... can´t
cinelerra include GIMP EFFECTS? (would be slow but we could have MANY
professional FX aviable)
-what about jahshaka FX? they have found realtime and GPU FX.
-what about advanced Masking tools? like having several masks per objects
some adds and some removes, to create GREAT animated masks.
those things are possible in the GNU world, you don´t have to BUY a company
to do it (as ADOBE DOES).
sorry for the long post again, I will put my ideas in a blog or something.
