Hello all,

I have a situation that I would welcome your input concerning.

I initiated contact last year with several CKCS breeders in my search for a
reputable breeder and in search of my first Cavalier. Long story short, I
was on several waiting lists (as is expected) and one of the breeders
contacted me after several months saying that a litter had produced a pup I
may be interested in. We signed contracts, I made a deposit and a few months
later, I was in receipt of said pup. He is beautiful and we love him and he
has been in our home for 5 months now and is a joy. Healthwise he checked
out and so far has developed no health issues.

The only 'problem' I have is an absence of AKC registration papers. Yes, I
have phoned (politely) the breeder several times and have been told on each
occasion that the breeder has sent in the litter registration papers, but
that nothing has been forthcoming from AKC. Three times to be exact, we have
had this conversation. This does not seem likely at this point -- do you
think?

I was shown registration papers for the sire and dam, shown the dam on the
premises and paid a goodly amount of monies for a registered pup. My most
recent phone message to the breeder remains unanswered. Is it possible for
me to contact AKC and pursue my questions with them, with only the breeders
name as a possible starting point?

I am not here to slam any particular breeder -- therefore I will not list the
breeder, even in private e-mails. That will not further my cause in the
least. I simply wish to tidy up my paperwork, and in the end, to have in my
possession what I believe I paid for -- a registerable Cavalier, whom I would
like to show, but cannot do at this point.

Thank you for your valuable input.
C Mitchell
