Susan, I think you are off base with your reply. Everyone I know from the
club, that I show with in AKC, is not afraid of the club going belly up.
--------------------
Sharon, we were talking about the anti-AKC people that worked so hard
against AKC during that last vote and then immediately registered all their
dogs and showed up in the AKC rings at first opportunity. I do not remember
your name being mentioned. However, I do think that my comment was very apt
for the segment of the club for which it was focused.
There was a short period of time for registering foundation dogs. Only
anti-AKC old club members who were true to their convictions refused to
register during that time and I have a lot more respect for them---
something that I do not have for the ones who engineered the vote and then
decided it was expedient to have a foot in both camps.
At this time, it is clear that both clubs will continue. That was not the
case in 1995. No one knew what would happen to the old club. I personally
think that two sets of papers is one set too many. I resigned from the old
club in 1995 for this very reason and also because I am not one to straddle
the fence. As far as the people that dual register now is concerned, if they
want to pay for two sets of papers for one dog, that's their prerogative.
The majority of the dual register people are not the ones that I made my
comment about.
All the best,
Susan Cochran
