Terrie
in case no one has informed you the Magazine I was asking about it a
Magazine produced by the Cavalier club here in the UK and issued to Club
members. It comes between me and my night's rest as I send it out to about
1800 people and you can guarantee someone will get missed!!

Subject: [CKCS-L] Introduction

> Greetings and Salutaions!
>
> My name is Terrie and currently I am involved in showing Goldens in
conformation,
> agility and obedience. I have been lurking on this list for several months
now and
> have spent a little over a year researching the CKCS breed. I would like
to
> eventually share my life and hobbies with this delightful breed but not
until I
> have established my eye towards the nuances of correct type.
>
> I would love some advice from the listers as to what I should add to my
CKCS
> library and also how some of you went about to find your mentor in the
breed. I
> have written to 4 well known breeders whose dogs I've seen pictures of
that I
> really admire, 3 in the US and 1 in the UK. Only one has offered to allow
me to
> visit and talk Cavaliers. I did inform all 4 that I was in a learning
stage and
> not ready to add a puppy. The other 3 have never responded back to me. In
all
> fairness, maybe they did not receive the e-mail or snail mail I sent. I
will
> eventually follow up with a phone call.
>
> The books and publication I currently have are "The CKCS In N. America",
"The CKCS
> Today", all available past issues and current subscription to "The Royal
> Spaniels", The UK Book of Champions, The Millenium Yearbook from the UK,
all of
> the ACKCS Annuals, The Illustrated Standard from the UK. What else should
I add? I
> was reading on the list about a magazine that some had or had not
received, please
> enlighten me.
>
> I plan to attend the ACKCS National next May and if I can't make the
CKCSUSA
> Annual show this October, I will certainly go to next year's Annual. In
addition,
> I am hoping to visit the UK next year and meet some Cavalier people and
take lots
> of notes <G> I have attended Meredith Johnson-Snyder's judge's education
seminar
> which I thoroughly enjoyed. I hope to meet some of the listers at future
shows and
> I am anxiously awaiting your advice on proceeding with my education on
this breed.
>
> Kindest Regards,
> Terrie:)
