Hi,

I haven't had an 18 pounder but I have had to run to catch a connecting
flight (I hate Chicago O'Hare) so I've let the dog out of the carrier,
attached a lead, and have made good time without killing my arm. I've
done this more than once and have never had anyone complain about the
dog not being in it's carrier, only smiles or comments that they have a
Cavalier, too!

Take care, Jackie
