Judy...you are correct regarding Tina Sterling's post...it is a small
example of her as a person...she is a true asset to this beloved breed and
very inspiring in all she does. I have witnessed her go and assist other
breeders (novice or seasoned) with conformation and/or type issues in their
programs, yet NEVER discuss these private issues with others (all I know is
they asked for her assistance, since I was there when they asked...but she
never discloses the specific conformation/type issue...that would not be
"proper" or worse yet in her opinion... gossip). She truly cares about this
breed future...she knows pedigrees backward and forward for more than ten
generations! She has always health tests her adults and puppies, since she
started her breeding program more than ten years ago...She has 20 champions,
yet only breed about two litters a year. She only has a small percentage of
pet puppies produced from her limited number of litters, since she has such
predictable outcome.
I have never heard Tina speak destructive regarding anyone...and I am proud
to call her my dear friend and true mentor in this breed. And we laugh a
lot...regarding things not related to CKCSs. Yes...life has more dimension
to it than dogs even if, they are CKCSs.
I must add...that we can all learn a lot from the "Tina Sterling" in this
world...she is an inspiration!
Thank you for letting me share a little tribute to a dear person...and a
true steward to our beloved breed!
Om another note...As far as finding Homerbrent Caption...I have him 8 or
more times in my present litter (I quit counting...I am tired tonight as I
was formulating this litter's extended pedigree)...and along with some of
the best bloodlines in the USA and abroad. I have not any hardships finding
the best stud to bring into my breeding program with longevity, health,
conformation, and type behind him. You have to study your extended
pedigrees...and know where you are going...than you can locate these
bloodlines with a little help from other breeders/exhibitors. We need to all
work together for the greater good for this breed. God Bless America! We
are capable of great things...
