While a few of mine wolf down their food without apparent ill effect, I
wonder along with you if this couldn't aggravate stomach problems
especially if what they are wolfing down is kibble. What we used to do
in horses to get a horse to slow down eating was to put a brick in its
bucket; the horse would have to work around the brick to get to the
food. Another trick might be to feed the entire day's ration in a
buster cube so that the dog had to get it out slowly. This has been
suggested for behavior problems, but I bet it would work to slow down
the digestion as well as be entertaining.
