In Goldens we come across this a bit as well and if it is definitely an eating too much too fast thing and not megaesophagus, cricopharyngeal dysphagia or cricopharyngeal achlasia symptom then I am aware of one sure fire way to make it stop. When you feed do so on a cookie sheet not in a bowl, it forces them to eat slower, the food is spread out and they are unable to inhale mounds of food.
