Jan, if they look like pieces put together from different dogs then they don't belong 
in
the show ring at all.  They would be completely lacking in type, as I said in my 
earlier
post.  Therefore, I would not refer to them as American type, but as dogs with no type
at all......... what comes from breeding with no mentor except another beginner, and
from doing no self-education before buying and breeding.     I believe I'm 
right...there
is only one type, and the others are just poor quality.
