RIGHT!!!!

Cathy,

I only bred to one dog *purposefully* that was not FULLY tested (hips).

I agonized for over 2 years on whether or not to do it--talked to everyone
who would listen and finally did it--because he was color doppler cleared of
MVD at 6 1/2 and still auscultated clear at 9, plus I knew of a couple of
his offspring that were OFA clear of hip dysplasia including a preliminary
excellent rating. Yet I felt I was taking a monstrous chance and was scared
to death the whole time until the two puppies I kept were fully tested and
clear--so I won't do that again! Too much stress for me to handle!!

However, the good part is that I am happy about the *puppies*. They are
just ready to turn 4, fully tested, still MVD clear with two parents who
were MVD clear to 9 years of age and producing very, very nicely. Since the
oldest puppy either has produced is not yet 1, only time will tell if it
will come back to haunt me.

A very hard thing to do. I'm not sure if I could say it was worth it.
