I have a heart murmur which was diagnosed many years ago and I am a fairly
healthy lady of somewhat advanced years who is in relatively good hearth.

My other breed...greyhounds...frequently have been diagnosed with heart
murmurs. Vets who know the breed do not mention it because the greyhound has
a different sound to their heart than most breeds of dog. Their heart is
larger and slower beating when at rest than other breeds. This came about
because they have been bred basically pure as athletes for at least two
thousand years. They have an athletic heart for the great burst of speed
that is needed in the sport of coursing.

I suppose this is not relevant to Cavaliers, but might be of interest to some
of you.
