As far as when to breed (Days 9, 11, 13)... when do you start counting... from the very first day you do a tissue test and you see a small spot of blood or do you wait a few more days until there is a lot of discharge before you start counting? Also, do some bitches start a season for days without a discharge and then is our counting off by days because of this?
Also... As far as 60 days in whelp... do you start counting the 60 days from the first breeding (even if your dog breeds early - let's say on Day 5)... or from the time you believe she ovulated... or 2 days after you believe she ovulated which is when the eggs are ready to be fertalized? These days of counting have always puzzled me and I would LOVE to know the answers because some have said that in Cavaliers anything after Day 60 (most specifically after Day 63) and no whelps there is trouble. So, how do you pin point the true day without doing progesterone testing? Thanks and Happy Holidays!
