Katy, I count from the very first day I see blood no matter how small. Also, some of mine are very good at keeping themselves clean so at the first sign of frequent licking I check with Kleenex before she gets to go out for her morning potty so I don't miss day one. Each bitch is different on when she will deliver her puppies...most recently one of mine went 64 days from the very first breeding. Or perhaps, the second breeding was responsible for the healthy litter at day 62. The behavior of the bitch will let you know if there is trouble. The Pratt bitches have varied from day 61, 63 and 64.
My bitches become aggressive towards the male and encourages sexual intercourse. This behavior can last from 4 to 12 days depending on the individual bitch. She will no longer stand and clamp her tail to the side of her body when her estrus cycle has ended. A pregnancy can last anywhere from 60 to 65 days. I hope this is helpful.
