I am definitely the new comer on the block in that I have owned a Cavalier for about ONE WEEK now - but ... before purchasing my pup, I visited with several breeders, looked at lots of dogs - and I was shown, by a breeder I respect, how to 'pull' the 'fluff' out when it grows - on the head, neck area(s) - I asked the breeder of my pup about this and he readily said, yes, this should be 'removed' or 'pulled out' - SO - even though you are not supposed to 'trim' or 'over groom' - THIS sort of fuzz stuff IS recommended to be removed - not just treated with conditioners & stuff to get it to lay down -
Others out there in cyber-land might disagree with me -- but this is what I have been shown / advised - Joan Robinson with Kiss & Kastle Gambler (Berners) and new Justine (Cavalier) in New Castle VA Larry and Karen Emerson wrote: > I am hoping someone out there in 'Cavalier Land' can help point me in the > right direction to the product that will help control Master Finnegan's > Funky Fro. > > Finnegan's coat is beautiful, shiny, and manageable...except for one place. > That place is known as Finnegan's Fro [as in a hairstyle known as the afro]. > This spot is just behind his skull, and runs a vertical stripe down his > neck.
