Since I only have one boy (who is neutered) I can really only speak from the
girls side :o) And the answer would be no in regards that I would not breed
a bitch with a grade 3 or 4 murmur. Actually not sure I could breed a bitch
period who even had a low grade murmur - as the stress on their system has to
be phenomenal during gestation whelping and rearing. And personally I don't
consider a 6 or 7 year old dog or bitch an asset to the breed with a grade 3
or 4 murmur. Something stud dog owners could always do if they are unsure
whether to neuter a dog who gets an earlier than planned murmur - is to
collect his semon - then 4 or 5 years down the line you could always make an
educated decision about whether to use that semon with the knowledge you have
gained from watching not only how his murmur progresses but the health of his
offspring.

thoughts. A cavalier tests heart clear via cardiologist auscultation at age
5. Obviously we all agree it is OK to breed this cavalier per the
guidelines. What would you do if when you test the dog when it is 6 or 7and
it has a Grade 3 or 4 murmur , per auscultation? Would you stop breeding
that cavalier? Would it make a difference if it were a male or female? >>
