Well with due respect Laura I don't think you can equate those figures to
Cavaliers where it appears to me that everyman and his dog has jumped on the
Cavalier bandwagon if only judging by the prices pet are sold at for a nice
little income
Now I readily recognise that there are people with many years experience in
other breeds now breeding and showing Cavaliers as well as Cavalier breeders
of many years standing but I think there is quite a high percentage breeding
(and sort of showing) who have no experience at all neither are they
adhering to the advice of the cardiologists. Therefore I think there are
quite a few what you call "backyard breeders" (how I hate that expression!!
VBG) amongst the breeder exhibitors
The same thing happened over here in the late sixties early seventies when
cavaliers were "discovered" so I am not pointing the finger in anyway. The
only hope is that as happened over here the bubble burst after a few years
and registrations settled down a bit.
