Pam So sad to hear of your problem with your little girl. Just my contribution, although I suspect you may have many replies about this experience.
It looks as though she may be starting with a form of senility, quite common in our older ones, where normal behavior alters in old age. If it were me, I would chat to the vet about the pros and cons of putting her on Anapril - after a health check, obviously. Although I have not needed to use Anapril to-date, I have heard of wonderful results from others. Just a thought.
