Dear Bobbi: Glaucoma is not at all a common problem for cavaliers and for you to have two of them is remarkable.
According to Dr. Marty Goldstein's (D.V.M.) book "The Nature of Animal Healing", page 116-117, he refers to an association between the eyes and the liver (according to Chinese traditions). He cites a case of a dog he treated who had been brought to him with liver cancer. The first thing he noticed was that the dog was missing an eye, because of glaucoma, and was on medication for the other eye. He refers to the eye having been treated as the "root cause" when to him it was a symptom of the internal problem; namely liver disease. I have no wish to add to your worries and I only mention this so that you can be sure to cover all avenues in your treatment of this situation. Dr. Goldstein is located at Smith Ridge Veterinary Centre in South Salem, New York. Good luck with your treatments Bobbi.
