hi francine,
since you dont live far from me, i would say the second quote of 85.00 is
most likely the cost of just the dentistry. (not including anesthesia,
hospitalization, extractions, anitbiotic inj etc.)  in this area, this is the
cost of just the cleaning itself. when someone calls for a quote on a
procedure, it is not unusual for the girls at the front desk or even the vet
himself to quote this way, not mentionig the additional costs. the vet i
worked for did it all the time and of course when the bill was presented to
the client, it was always the front desk that got chewed out for it from the
client.
