I'm no authority - to be sure - but freckles LOOK a great deal different
to me than 'ticking' -- they are just smaller patches of color.  The
ticking is colored hairs more or less mixed with the white hairs - and
not making the same 'depth of color' where they appear.  Maybe I'm off
base here - this is STRICTLY what I think when I look at the freckles
and/or ticking -
