Sharon- we had a firsttime cavalier mom think she was raising a nest of little hummingbirds so she would go sit on them too as she entered her nest. We just quickly resqued them from her rump and moved/called her into a better location and gave her a down command and put the puppies next to her. Told her to stay and repeated when she did it again. Within two days she knew to have them alongside her rather than underneath. New mothers, even a supermom, as she turned out to be, still need help and supervision.
