I have had my very good, non-hearing-impaired mothers do this occasionally with an unthrifty puppy. I think it's "nature's Way" of insuring the vigor of the pup by requiring it tto squirm to free itself and verify to mom that it is thriving. Every time this has happened with a pup I've had here, there has been something wrong with the pup. If my supervising its nursing and stimulating it to eliminate does not "turn it around" in 24-48 hours, the pup doesn't survive. Mother most often knows best and when we use extraordinary means to save a puppy that would not survive with minimal or no assistance we are perpetuating weakness - lack of overall vigor. <<We have worked so hard to get this far, I would hate to lose her now.
