I always wanted a large talking bird but have cats instead. When in college, I bought a little caneuer (sp?) parrot. I was determined to have something to talk to since no other animals could reside in the dorm. This little guy simply would not say a thing. Every day I set aside some time to work with him but he just sat there and stared at me. One day when I came into the room I heard him croaking like a toad. There was one who lived outside under my window. What a perverse bird he was...he'd learn from a toad but would not so much as say "Hello" for me.
