1. May want to save money. If you pay for the spay, they don't have to. 2. May have talked to another breeder whose philosophy is NOT to spay until after the age of 12 or 18 months (or whatever) and were exploring how you felt about it. 3. May want to breed the dog eventually. You'll have to ask more questions and go on the answers and intuition. What I do is if there is any question, I don't sell. You COULD try telling them you sometimes do spay before they leave and are considering spaying this one too and see how they react.
