Well, I'm not sure what "straight and true" movement means for Cavaliers. It
appears that there is more than one interpretation of this, i.e., some
believe that parallel movement is correct, some believe slightly converging
is correct and others say that single tracking is correct. And all of these
movement styles could be straight and true.

And what is a straight-boned front? Which bones are being referred to: the
shoulder bones, upper arm bones, lower arm bones, etc. What are "properly
made and muscled hindquarters." How does the standard define properly made
and what constitutes proper muscling in the hindquarters. Do you want long
flat muscling, short bulky muscling, should the lower leg bone the same
length or longer than the upper leg bone. Is inside thigh muscling as
important as outside muscling? In boxers I've found that inadequate inside
thigh muscling almost always results in wide movement with limited drive.
Perhaps the tendency of Cavaliers to move parallel in the rear is due to
lack of inside thigh muscling? Do you see what I mean by vague?

I'm not trying nitpick but a vague standard can lead to many different
interpretations and/or misunderstandings. And when trying to educate judges
or novice breeders/exhibitors (including myself) as to what is correct
structure and movement in the Cavalier, different people could give
completely different interpretations. I found this to be true when giving
judges seminars on the Boxer Standard and the Boxer standard is very
specific. As well written as this standard is, judges still had problems
with interpretation and what was preferred and/or not acceptable.
