Hi Jackie, I am responding to an email from 6 hours ago so I apologize if this was previusly addressed. Dual registry is not the problem. Dual registry is supposed to mean that my dogs are registered with 2 clubs. That is wonderful. That SHOULD mean I can show my dogs in either venue and that I can benefit from the gene pool of dogs in both of the clubs in which I am registered, whether they are dual registered or not. The problem is, sad to say, with the frustratingly long period of time the CKCSC has taken to get their act together and resolve this issue. I understand that is now happening. I personally cannot think of any valid reason (there are pros and cons that can be brought up to argue either side) that we will not move forward into a new relationship with AKC only dogs. The time has come to put aside personal reasons for wanting a system that remains closed to healthy, beautiful, and well-tempered Cavaliers. And once again Jeanie....thanks for your well thought out comments. You said, "But the most important thing is that as least the AKC, the ACKCSC and the old CKCSCUSA are each in their own way trying to improve the standards of breeding dogs. Golly, you complain about the AKC and how it does nothing to stop puppy mills etc but it does miles more than our national controlling body in the ethical regulation of breeding dogs (DNA tests, kennel inspections etc) but people here don't seem to get so uptight about our controlling body's limited involvement. We simply get on with the job of breeding and showing our dogs, and trying to enrich people's lives with these wonderful dogs." Phyllis Lasser
