Can some of you who have successfully fed a raw diet for an extended period-a year+ please share exactly what you feed and how you prepare it. I am not interested in commercially prepared raw diets. I have supplemented with raw chicken, but have not gone completely raw. I am interested but want to be sure I know all there is to know to get it right and balanced. I know about the books, but would like to hear some real success stories from real people.
A few concerns I have, do you feed wings, and thighs whole? I have had the bone come back up in it's entirety. Not sure which dog. I made the mistake of telling a good friend, who also happens to be a vet taking time off to raise family, that I was feeding raw chicken. She was none too pleased and worried about Salmonella. It is my understanding that dogs (maybe due to higher body temp.) are not affected by Salmonella. My experience with carnivores is the worse it smells the better it tastes! You know their fav. stuff would be loaded with bacteria! My dogs and I would really appreciate anything anyone would care to share:) Thanks Jan Rinker ========================================================"Magic Commands": to stop receiving mail for awhile, click here and send the email: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20NOMAIL to start it up gain click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20MAIL E-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] for assistance.
