The only thing that I can offer to say is that, because you have made
reference to the fact that you only "cook" on "occasion", I would be
concerned about your dog's digestive ability to properly digest the bones
and feathers of this generous offering :)  I took a full year of feeding
raw meats and veggies before I was brave enough to offer raw chicken bones
(necks) because I wanted to be relatively sure that that digestive juices
were strong enough to digest them, thus reducing the risks.  PLUS, who
knows what state of health this bird was in (parasites, toxins, disease).
Chances are pretty good that all is well, but I think that based on what
you have shared, I would try to ensure that your dog is NOT just "allowed"
to eat these offerings.  Even though my dogs eat a raw meat, bone, veggie
diet, I would still take away a wild bird from them if I had the chance.
