Mom had Boston Terrier that needed the surgery as well, Jiggs didn't seem to be overly bothered but it could have led to more problems later on. Even though they had an opthamologist do the procedure it needed to be redone. Apparently the first stitch did not catch the affected vessel. A few weeks of drops and he has been fine for over a year now. Btw, it is quite disturbing to see and I would get it fixed right away. We were always concerned that he would scratch the eye or damage it some way if it got inflamed. Just my two cents.
