Hi

I have had one case of Cherry eye. I use a warm damp cloth and covered the
eye for about one hour three times a day. I pushed the "cherry" back into
position and then applied Polysporin eye and ear drops. This case was quite
bad as my vet wanted to operate and insisted that we just keep pushing it
back until the pup was six months.

It took a few days of this TLC - the "cherry" slowly got smaller. My vet
had also noted a spot on the cornea at the time she diagnosed the Cherry
Eye.

When I took the dog back the spot on the cornea had disappeared and the
Cherry eye was gone. The pup received an eye clearance (Normal) at one year
old or there abouts.

I am told that the operation can cause dry eye which I have never seen.

There are full instructions on the CKCS Club of Canada website. Follow them
and I am sure they will work.

Maureen
