Actually, I think there is a possibility of AKC recognizing new Cavaliers registered only with the USA club.
I am involved in another breed that is having an issue with registration with AKC. In speaking to David Merriam, the outgoing Chairman of the Board, I was told that the AKC Board very much leans toward complying with the wishes of parent clubs (ie. ACKCSC) In fact, just this year they opened their Saluki stud book to what has been called, Desert Bred Salukis. These are Salukis that were bred in the middle east by Sheiks and were never registered anywhere....though careful pedigrees were kept. This may apply to only those dogs who have three or more generations born here, but non the less, the door is open for totally unregistered Salukis. I would think it would be a cinch to get the same for any USA only dogs if properly requested. I would think that that would be a formal request from the ACKCSC.
